The European course of Ukraine, which is implemented, in particular, by harmonizing national legislation with EU law, is a constitutional direction of state policy. The state protects the rights of consumers, controls the quality and safety of products and all types of services and works, and promotes the activities of consumer public organizations. One of the priorities of the European course of Ukraine is the adoption, improvement and implementation of legal acts in the field of consumer rights protection, developed taking into account the acts of EU law, with the aim of implementing the constitutional obligation of the state and bringing the legislation of Ukraine in line with the unified approaches of the consumer rights protection system. The development of digitization and e-commerce, in addition to the advantages and opportunities for businesses and consumers, carries threats and challenges that must be responded to in a timely manner by legal means. EU legislation in this area is proving its effectiveness. Therefore, the purpose of the article, based on a systematic analysis using comparative legal, statistical and other methods, is to analyze the latest legislative initiatives in the field of consumer rights protection in Ukraine in accordance with EU law and to provide proposals for improving the legislation of Ukraine. The article is substantiated the need to strengthen consumer guarantees when returning low-quality goods; establishment of proportional and reasonable terms for the fulfillment of warranty obligations, return of funds to the consumer in case of termination of the contract with the seller; implementation of EU standards in terms of ensuring the availability of online procedures for alternative, out-of-court dispute resolution; introduction of special divisions for the protection of consumer rights; creation of a state communications bureau that will coordinate the activities of stakeholders in the protection of consumer rights in the country.
