The article examines the current state and analyzes the peculiarities of Ukraine's agrarian legislation under the current conditions of martial law, and identifies the directions of its further development and prospects for improvement. The author emphasizes that the peculiarity of agrarian legislation is the absence of a single specialized codified legal act. Since the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, the agrarian legislation of Ukraine has undergone significant transformation and changes. A number of new laws and bylaws were adopted, amendments were made to the Land, Tax and Customs Codes of Ukraine, as well as other regulations governing agricultural relations, and new international agreements were concluded in this area. First of all, the agrarian legislation was amended in the following areas: food security; state support for agriculture; agro-export logistics; compensation for damage caused to agribusinesses as a result of a full-scale war on the territory of Ukraine, land resources, etc. However, these steps do not form a scientifically sound and systematic approach, do not take into account the needs of European integration transformations, the need for strategic reforms towards sustainable development of the agricultural sector, counteracting climate change which is negative for agricultural production, overcoming global threats in the food, agro-environmental and agro-energy sectors, and the need for post-war revival of the agricultural sector of the economy and the agricultural sector as a whole. The author concludes that the current agrarian legislation requires improvement, revision and systematization of the existing agrarian regulations, monitoring and elimination of existing gaps and defects, and at least partial codification. After all, not only the survival of national agriculture during the war, but also the prevention of a post-war deep decline in agricultural production and protracted food, agro-environmental and agro-energy crises depend on the quality of agrarian legal regulation and a balanced state policy in the agricultural sector.
